The Body Snatchers

As I write this entry, I am listening to the Body Snatchers. I love the original black and white movie, but have never read the book.

I heard this noise in my backyard and was surprised to see this woodpecker. I guess the surprise was more in how big it was in relation to the smaller more common woodpeckers I am used to seeing. I was also surprised by the red head. I did some searching and believe it is a Pileated Woodpecker. Sadly, I have not seen or heard him anymore.

This is the Space Shuttle as seen from my backyard on Friday June 8. What a beautiful and amazing sight. After all these years and after seeing the Challenger explode, I can't help but be amazed by it. Enjoy!!

I like to draw with color pencils, so I found a very good RSS feed under About.com. I will try to scan and post some of my drawings for your viewing.

I recently was given a taste of Plum wine while dining at Kobe's and I have to say it was very good. I never drink, therefore I am not very knowledgeable about wines. Bottletalk helped me by giving me some choices of the best ones in my price range. I also found some infomation about Plum wine in About.com. It seems to be rich in potassium and calcium. So get a load of that. Great tasting and good for you.

I signed up for Trainco, since those last few pounds I need to lose seem to be hanging on for dear life. But not for long. Come summer I will be in top shape reading about art while sipping some good Plum wine...maybe then I will post my picture (wink, wink)

Neatorama

Being an avid reader, I loved "What should I read next". I already received a few reccomendations on books to read. Under Del.ici.ous I found Neatorama to be very interesting and informative, especially the story about the strangest disaster of the 20th century. This site talks about things that have happened or are happening on our beautiful planet. Check it out.

Red convertible...and I only have to drive 5 miles to get it.

Hello my Fellow Readers. I just finish the The Madman's Tale by John Katzenbach. It was a great story. Even though you start getting an idea as to what, how and who, there is a twist that you do not see coming when it comes to the why. Great narrative from the point of view of a person who hears voices...Check it out. John Katzenbach also wrote the Wrong Man, about a man and his obsession with a woman he spent one night with. Very good reading although a little chilling since this is, in my opinion, more fact than fiction.

RSS's and Grokking around

I just learned how to add RSS feeds to my e-mail, so now I do not have to remember to search for anyhting and will still receive those articles of news and information I want.

I love too many things to be able to select only a few, so added 11 feeds ranging from articles on dogs and other animals, to art, music, movies, etc.

I also went to Grokker and searched for Silky Terriers. I received a lot of information regarding this breed, which I simply adore. I am thinking about getting one for my birthday and this information will help me reach a decision.

I am not a computer expert and always listened to my niece talk about MySpace, YouTube, Blogs, etc and started to think she was from another planet. But now I know better.

OCLS Learn 2.0 is the best!!!
